For the past ten years Tim Hussey has worked as an illustrator, designer, instructor and painter.
Starting in 1992 as a set designer for MTV, where his paintings were shown on air as a live performance, he then went on to do editorial illustration for clients ranging from Details to The New York Times to Rolling Stone. While maintaining his illustration career, in 1994 he began designing for magazines like Musician, GQ, Outside and Icon. He used these these two sides of the business harmoniously and began teaching related courses at The School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Tim has received numerous awards and international recognition for his work in both illustration and design including American Illustration, Print Magazine, Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts, as well as being invited to conduct a 4 day seminar in Caracas, Venezuela on American Illustration and Design.
In 1998, after 6 years in New York, he moved back to his homeland in the south where he met his wife and began painting personal work. Since then he has had 3 solo exhibitions of his paintings (New York, Detroit, Nashville) and has 2 coming in 2001. He currently resides in Tennessee with his wife Jennifer. |
